I was born and raised in a suburb of Houston, Texas and attended Texas A&M University where I received a Bachelor of Environmental Design, and I am a licensed architect in both Tennessee and Texas. After moving to Nashville, I went on to receive my Doctor of Jurisprudence from Nashville School of Law. I am currently an Owner’s Representative and Project Manager and work closely with Metro Nashville on capital projects and major maintenance needs.
I am dedicated to public service and empowering communities through social change and political organizing. I want to be your Alderman for our new Hendersonville Ward 2 because I love our city. My experience working as an architect and project manager is needed now to protect Hendersonville from the negative impacts caused by the recently proposed high-density housing projects.
I’ve had the pleasure of calling beautiful Historic Hendersonville my home for over 7 years now. My lovely wife, Lee Oliver Martin, is a third-generation Hendersonville resident. We have two beautiful five-year old twin boys, Wells and Wyatt, who are the pride and joy of our lives.
I look forward to serving you, my fellow neighbors, as your Alderman-elect for Ward 2 and working toward making a QUALITY Hendersonville for YOU!

serving Ward 2:
preserving Historic Hendersonville
and revitalizing main street businesses.
As your Hendersonville Ward 2 Alderman I will:
- Prevent tax increases caused by aggressive developments by raising the fees we charge to developers so we are more consistent with other local municipalities. This will ensure that new infrastructure and maintenance costs impacted by new projects are paid more by the developers who benefit and less by our Hendersonville taxes.
- Mitigate the increasing flooding our city is now experiencing due to developers replacing our natural landscape with nonpermeable buildings and paving. This will be accomplished by strictly enforcing Hendersonville Planning Department’s requirement for developers to provide properly calculated stormwater retention measures on their proposed projects.
- Protect Historic Hendersonville by making high-density housing projects more desirable for developers in areas with the infrastructure intentionally designed and constructed to accommodate it.
- Be Ward 2’s voice during the Planning Commission’s redevelopment of the Old Town Residential and Old Town Commercial zoning ordinances to make sure we are heard.
- Promote the revitalization of Ward 2’s Main Street businesses by working with Main Street business owners.
- Support our Parks & Recreation Department to remain a national and regional choice for sports tournaments and preserve the economic impact benefit they bring our city as they prepare to compete with Murfreesboro’s new $350 million dollar multi-use facility scheduled to open in 2024.
